This one is a doozy. The number of times the Hart children were so close to having someone listen to them, so close to being believed, so close to being saved... it's really difficult to hear.
But it is also a story that needs to be told for many reasons - cops not taking complaints seriously, white parents not making any effort to immerse their adopted children in their own culture, abuse being reported, but ignored. It's honestly all a massive mess with a horrible ending.
So, thank you for sticking with us through this tough one. I'll try to bring something a bit lighter to your attention next week. Also, note - Helayne was really busy last week, but she's very much still my partner in crime. My roommate, Comfort, was nice enough to listen to me tell this story so we could get an episode up this week. Love you all for understanding!
Keep showing that love with a five-star rating on Apple Podcasts. It really does make a difference. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
